5/29/21; Final preparations are complete, task lists have been made and checked off. I have packed and re-packed about 10 times, trying to decide what you can’t live without is hard for a packrat. Once I was fully loaded I went to the scales and weighed the truck and trailer, I’m well within my weight rating for both.

I’m ready for Epic Road Trip 2021 to start!
Other than a weekend at the Oregon Coast I’ve been hanging out in Southern Oregon finishing up final preparations.
I saw the famous Elk near Smith River, CA. Check out the velvet on that rack!

Nice rack!
I managed to take a day trip up to Hyatt Lake and Little Hyatt Lake, some pretty country less than an hour from Ashland, OR.

Making a loop off OR-140 I stopped by North Fork Campground to explore the unique rock piles, some sort of volcanic activity must have caused these piles to form in this area? If you know what causes this please comment and let me know.

Following the creek I found my first real beaver dam! Not sure what the name of the creek is, (Maybe North Fork Little Butte Creek?), this area is part of the Rogue River National Forest and very close to Fish lake.

One of my new favorite activities while staying in this area was to explore the little free libraries sprinkled in the neighborhoods of Medford and Ashland. Such a great idea, you can put up a box and people can exchange books. Check out littlefreelibrary.org to see if there is one near you!

Fancy, even a bench!
I’ll be visiting friends in the Bay area next week and then up to Mammoth Lakes, CA to explore the area and visit Yosemite. Stay tuned for weekly updates!
